Kayte Sabicer

Appearing: Saturday, Sunday

Kayte Sabicer is a model maker and artist. She has worked in the film industry making miniatures for visual effects on movies like Inception, Hugo, and Dark Knight Rises. She also does work making puppets and sets for stop motion animation with Phil Tippett on projects including Mad God, Solo, Star Wars Rise of Skywalker, and Book of Boba Fett. Working with a vast array of materials from styrene and wood to foam and resin, Kayte specializes in the art of “make THIS look like THAT.” Her favorite part always comes at the end when she gets to the painting, aging, and finishing of a prop or model, when the thing really comes to life. She currently co-hosts Model Behavior on Tested.com’s YouTube channel sharing tips and tricks with fabricators everywhere.

Creating The Improbable.

We believe in every single person’s ability to create the improbable and to learn about themselves and the world in the process. Like any artifact worth searching for, sometimes all it takes is a bit of digging in the right place to find your unique ability. We seek to aid in this endeavor.

At SiliCon with Adam Savage, our goal is to bring together people who have long histories of creating, from filmmakers and actors, to artists, authors, engineers, scientists, technologists, and makers to share their creativity and enthusiasm. We know that the sum of all this interaction is greater than its individual parts. We celebrate the spark we get when we meet new people, surmount new challenges, exult and share with each other.
